Biography

Katherine (Katie) Leech Vollen, Esquire, is an experienced and compassionate family law attorney. She has experience in all areas of family law, including divorce, equitable distribution, child custody, child support, spousal support/alimony/alimony pendente lite, Premarital Agreements, Property Settlement Agreements and Protection from Abuse (PFA) matters. Katie's goal in every case is to work together with her clients to prepare a strategy that will best serve his or her individual needs. She is a skilled negotiator and litigator. She has been recognized by her peers for her excellence in family law practice and was chosen as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers for 2013, 2014 & 2015. In 2016, Katie was one of the youngest "Super Lawyer" recipients and was honored to be designated a "Super Lawyer" again in 2017.

Prior to starting the firm, Katie worked in a boutique family law firm and a larger, general practice law firm where she focused her practice on family law matters. She was inspired to start the firm of Vollen, Anderson, Long, LLC, in 2016 to provide clients in family law cases with small firm attention while maintaining the highest standards of practice and competence in family law matters.

Katie is dedicated to the legal community through her involvement in the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA), where she has had the privilege to serve on many committees. She is actively involved in the Family Law Section and previously co-chaired the Section's Pro Bono Committee. She is a past member of the Young Lawyer's Division Council, the Family Law Section Council, and the Judiciary Committee. She is passionate about pro bono work and volunteerism, and was awarded the prestigious "Young Lawyer Pro Bono Award" from the Allegheny County Bar Foundation (ACBF) in 2016. She is a fellow of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. She sits on the board of Neighborhood Legal Services Association and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's Partner's Board, where she served as co-chair from 2013 - 2016. Katie's husband is a veteran, and she cares deeply about veterans' issues.

Katie obtained her Bachelors of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
